Karakorum ancient capital city, Erdene zuu biggest monastery
Karakhorum 360km. Mongolia 's ancient capital Karakhorum, Genghis Khaan´s fabled city, was founded in 1220 in the Orkhon Valley , at the crossroads of 'The Silk Road'. Visit the Erdenezuu monastery. This Monastery was built in 1586. Not a single nail was used in the construction of the ornate temples, only a few of which remain standing after the communist purges.
Day 01: Ulaanbaatar city tour
Tour begins: At the airport in Ulaanbaatar you will be meet your guide and driver. City orientation tour begins with visiting Gandan Monastery. Lunch at the Modern Nomads restaurant /Mongolian national food, modern and comfortable/. Visit the dinosaur exhibits at the Museum of Natural History and Chiggis statue at the goverment house. Free time. Overnight at 3 star hotel. (L)
Day 02: Visit AMARBAYASGALANT monastery
After breakfast drive to AMARBAYASGALANT monastery. This is a long driving day stepper range. Lunch served as picnic on the way. After lunch drive to explore the AMARBAYASGALANT monastery 7km.Amarbaysgalant second biggest monastery Built in 1727-1736,neiborhood area has vast lovely flower drenched, grass hills and one of the wideness river Selenge river. Overnight in the tourist camp. (B/L/D)
Day 03: Khustai National Park
After breakfast drive to Khustai National Park to see a Takhi. Known as Przewalski's horse in the West and takhi in Mongolia, these dun-colored, black-maned equids are the only wild horses left in the world. The horse is an integral part of Mongolian culture. During the 12th and 13th centuries, Genghis Khan and his descendants triumphantly rode horses while building the largest empire in history, a swath of land sweeping from China to Europe. Present there are 400 Takhi horses in Mongolia and 200 of them in khustai national park. Overnight in the tourist camp. (B/L/D)
Day 04: Kharakhorum city, Erdenezuu Monastery
After breakfast drive to Kharakhorum (250km) ancient Mongolian capital city and Erdenezuu monastery. Mongolia´s ancient capital city Kharakhorum, Chinggis Khaan´s fabled city, was founded in 1220 in the ORKHON Valley, at the crossroads of “The Silk Road”. It was from there that the Mongol Empire was governed, until Kublai Khaan moved to Beijing. Erdene zuu Mongolian biggest Monastery was built in 1586 (16 century) and is surrounded by a massive 400m-x 400m wall. Not a single nail was used in the construction of the ornate temples, only a few of which remain standing after the communist purges. Overnight in the tourist camp. (B/L/D)
Day 05: Ulaanbaatar
After Lunch drive back to Ulaanbaatar. It will be a day of guided sightseeing in UB, shopping and free time. Evening you will watch National folk dance performance. Overnight at the 3 start hotel. (B/L)
Day 06: Departure.
