Food & Drinks

We are proud to announce that starting this year of 2012 we are started to make our own organic vegetarian meals, serving in our 'Princes' tourist camp.

Nobody travels to Mongolia for the food, but Ulaanbaatar has a good range of Western, Asian and Mongolian options. No other city this side of Beijing has close to a comparable selection. Even better, meals here are quite reasonable. You can get perfectly reasonable pizza for 3-10 USD, even a night out at a fancy French cafe shouldn't pass $20. Consider splurging on a couple good meals here, especially if headed out for a long trek into the country. We are proud to announce that starting this year of 2012 we are started to make our own organic vegetarian meals, serving in our 'Princes' tourist camp. We are sure that food in Mongolia is not comperable with any other countries, a big portion of delicious meal will be served during your tour! We can asure that you will be happy with the meals that will be serving during your stay in city, camps and tent overnights!

Attractions

Eagle valley, Gurvan Saikhan National Park (Omnogobi)
This park is the highlight of the province. Unlike other parks in the Gobi, this park does contain a few attractions. There are mountains, dinosaur fossils, sand dunes and a beautiful valley, which is contains ice for most of the year, even in summer. The park has a rich diversity of flora and birdlife, over 200 species of birds and over 600 species of plants.

Bayanzag (Omnogobi)
Bayanzag, which means ‘rich in saxual shrubs’, is more commonly known as the ‘Flaming cliffs’. It is known worldwide for the number of dinosaur bones and eggs found in the area. If you are not interested in dinosaur excavations you can enjoy the magnificent surrounding landscape. A little bit further in the park lays Moltsog els, a nice range of sand dunes. Also found in this area is the Saksaul Forest.

Saksaul forest only exist in central Asia and is an important vegetation feature in Mongolia. One quarter of Mongolia’s forested area is covered by this woody shrub. Especially in areas of desert and semi-desert, Saksaul forests protect the soils from erosion, provide diverse habitats for animals, fodder for wildlife and livestock and firewood for people. In the Gobi, saksaul occurs almost exclusively in pure stands, it rarely occurs together with salt-cedar. It is effective against erosion because it sends out horizontal roots in addition to very deep roots to reach the underground water.

Princess Temple, Gunj Sum (Khan Khentii Strictly Protected Area)
In 1740 the temple was built by Efy Dondovdorj to commemorate the death of his Manchurian wife Amarlangui. Amarlangui was a Manchurian princess, send to Mongolia to marry Dondovdorj and spy for the Manchurians. But, she fell in love with the king and refused to spy. The Manchurians did not like her refusing behaviour and decided to kill her. The king was mourning and built a temple of honour for her.

The temple is located in a lovely forest close to the Baruun Bayan River. Nowadays the main temple and most of the surrounding walls remains.
