Discover the Mongolian Taiga
Tsaatan (in mongolian)- reindeer herders originally from across the border in what is now Tuva Republic of Russia, they are one of the last groups of nomadic reindeer herders in the world. There are just 40 families left with about 1500 reindeers. The reindeer and the herders are dependent on one another. Some of them say that if the reindeer disappear, so too will their culture. The reindeer are domesticated and belong to the household. In many ways they are treated like family members and shown respect. The community's chores and activities center on the care and feeding of their reindeer.
Itinerary
Arrive at the new Airport in Ulaanbaatar and transfer to the hotel. We will visit the Gandan Monastery and Chinggis khan Museum. Walk in Sukhbaatar square and see the monument of Chinggis Khan. Show performance of National Folklore. After the welcome dinner transfer to the hotel.

Flight to Murun, which is the administrative center of Khuvsgul province. After lunch we will drive to Khuvsgul Lake. The region is well known in Mongolia for its natural environment and Lake Khuvsgul. It is also one of the country's major tourist attractions. The largest forests of Mongolia are located around and to the north of the lake, extending the South Siberian taiga.

After a varied breakfast, continue to explore Mongolia with the Ariyabal meditation temple. It's located in the scenic area of Gorkhi Terelj National Park. The temple is built on a steep slope and is shaped like an elephant's head. The 108 steps symbolize the trunk. We have enough time to walk around here. Also we'll visit the Turtle Rock formation, the symbol of Terelj National Park. In the late afternoon we will be back in the capital Ulaanbaatar. Transfer to your hotel.
